Morning Routine

Updated: Mar 20, 2020

My Work Day Morning Routine:

  1. Wake up at 6am: Recently, the place I have been working has had my shifts starting at 7am, so I have to be up at least an hour before if I want to get everything I want done. Sometimes, I'll set my alarm to 5:30am if I would like to do something else.

  2. Go to the bathroom: because sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do.

  3. Get out of bed and wash my face: This is really necessary if I am gonna wake up properly at all. And believe me, it actually helps!

  4. Put on some moisturising lotion: Keeps my face nice and supple for the day. I like to use Cetaphil Moisturiser because it is non-greasy and feels really nice on my skin. It's also not that expensive.

  5. Go make breakfast: Yes, I have to eat breakfast very early in the morning, but since I work till 12:30pm with only bathroom breaks, I need to eat before work. So often I'll make myself a couple pieces of toast and a banana (or other fruit). If Dad has put the coffee pot on, I might pour myself a cup of coffee.

  6. Do my devotions: Often times, though most of you will likely judge this, I take my breakfast into my room to eat whilst I do devotions. I actually like this system because none of my family is really up yet, and I really want to get my devotions done in the morning. And its a really cool way to spend time with God with little interruption.

  7. Brush my teeth and put on my clothes and shoes: Then I am ready after a spritz of deodorant and I begin to head out the door for work at around 6:40am. I'll often take a shower in afternoon when I get home so I am nice and clean after work.

My ideal day-off morning routine:

  1. Wake up at 6/7am: Just to have a nice early start to make the most out of my day.

  2. Do my devotions: again, to put this first in my day and get the right focus for my day

  3. Get dressed and go for a walk: get those endorphins flying high and waking up peppy in the morning

  4. Get home and take a shower: make sure my body is cooled off and all that sweat and dirt is washed clean from my body.

  5. Have breakfast: ideally, a smoothie, or eggs and avocado on toast (because I am a millenial). But often, peanut butter and chia seed on toast and a banana is my go to. And again, need that coffee.

  6. If going out, putting on some make-up to get ready. Make sure those teeth are brushed well and clean so I have a beautiful smile for the great day I am gonna have. (Ok...I'm not that annoyingly optimistic...)

Those are kinda my go to routines. Comment below what you're morning routine is, or what you think would be cool to add to my routine.
